DRAFT: lawyer review required before launch
AI Use Policy
Version 1, last updated
Sellers may use AI tools to make resources. Every listing says how AI was used, and buyers can see that label before they buy.
The three labels
Every listing carries one AI label. The seller picks it before the listing can go live.
- Made without AI. The seller made the whole resource. No AI tool wrote, drew, or designed any part of it.
- AI-assisted. The seller used AI tools for some help, such as ideas, editing, or images. The seller reviewed and changed everything in the file.
- Mostly AI-generated. AI tools produced most of the content.
Which label?
Common cases and the label each one gets. The label covers the whole resource, listing included.
- Spell check, or a grammar checker that only flags mistakes: Made without AI. A tool that rewrites your sentences counts as editing, so that's AI-assisted.
- You asked AI for ideas and wrote everything yourself: AI-assisted.
- AI wrote passages or questions that stay in the file: Mostly AI-generated if they make up most of the resource. If they're a small part and you edited them, AI-assisted.
- Your own worksheet with one AI illustration: AI-assisted.
- You wrote the resource and AI translated it: AI-assisted, as long as you checked and corrected the translation.
- AI wrote your listing description, or made your cover or thumbnail: AI-assisted, even if you made the file yourself.
- Clip art when you don't know how it was made: ask the artist or check the shop's terms. If you still can't tell, choose AI-assisted.
What sellers must do
Answer the AI question on every listing, honestly, before it is published. Using AI is allowed. Hiding that use breaks the seller policies. If a label looks wrong, we fix it or remove the listing, and we tell the seller why. The seller policies cover the same rule.
Paid listings marked mostly AI-generated
Our staff review these before they go live. Free listings are not held for this review. Reviewers check the label and the listing against the seller policies. They do not judge the teaching.
How search treats these labels
Search ranks mostly AI-generated listings lower. Made-without-AI and AI-assisted listings are ranked the same way.
Filtering AI work out of search
On search, open AI use and choose one option: Made without AI, AI-assisted, or Hide mostly AI-generated. Hide mostly AI-generated keeps every other listing in the results. Each listing page also shows its label, with a link to search for listings that share it.
When a label looks wrong
Use "Report this resource" on the listing page, or email support@joinhonorsystem.com with the listing title and what looks wrong. Buyers get no exclusive rights in AI-generated images. The terms say more.
